My First Human
Labra, is the daughter of a founding member of a country of daemons. Daemons normally can’t have children and need human hosts to possess and propagate. However, Labra is special. She is the first daemon child to have been born, not made. To keep her safe, her doting mother has sheltered her away from daemons and humans in her secluded forest retreat.​
Labra’s isolated life is upended when she stumbles across a human boy – her first servant! But, as she grows closer to this strange boy and his maddingly fearless approach to life, she begins questioning all she has been taught about the interactions between her kind and men. Labra finds herself struggling to make peace between her mother’s reality and a love that isn’t meant for daemons.
